Because it holds on the same technical basis as its relatives VW Golf and Audi A3, the Seat Leon is just as proficient of changing. Between a classic affordable 5-door sedan, a four-wheel-drive all-terrain station wagon, ideally accomplished, and an impressive sporty 300hp, everyone will necessarily find what they are looking for. Especially since with an equivalent engine, the Spanish is displayed, more often than not, at prices lower than those of its glorious German relatives.
If the TDI diesels do not deserve special praise due to their lack of discretion and ever more questionable economic relevance, none of their petrol counterparts should be avoided. Whether it’s a modest 115hp 3-cylinder or a beefier 190hp 4-cylinder, a TSI version rarely disappoints. Even more so when it is equipped with the DSG dual-clutch robotic gearbox. Said transmission generally emphasizes the flexibility and responsiveness of the mechanics without causing significant overconsumption.
As on the Arona, the catalog has recently been extended with a TGI engine, the 4-cylinder 1.5 petrol engine, widely tested within the Volkswagen group, converting for the occasion to natural gas. Although close to retirement, this third installment, therefore, continues to strive to stay current.
Well motorized, a Leon allows you to have a good time behind the wheel. Without making it as fun as a Honda Civic or Peugeot 308, its reasonable weight and serious undercarriages make it a traction (or all-wheel drive) fun to drive. The greatest road qualities of this compact remain its great driving smoothness and ease of handling, favored by flawless ergonomics.
Built on the historic site of the Iberian brand in Martorell, this Seat is also very serious about its manufacturing quality.

With a slightly sportier orientation than its illustrious German cousins, the Leon never really offers the same walking comfort. Unless you invest € 665 in optional pilot damping, reserved for high finishes, the relative dryness of the suspension can tire.
And with a less statutory ambition, the Seat also places less emphasis on appearances. Modernity is not what best characterizes the atmosphere on board. In particular, the omnipresence of dark plastics and a multimedia interface to the screen of modest size compared to that of more dashing rivals. However, the practical aspects suffer from a somewhat tight trunk on the sedan.
